“Neither do I condemn you; now go, and sin no more.” – Jesus John 8:11
Jesus doesn’t condemn us for the life of sin we have lived. And when he says “go and sin no more”, he doesn’t mean that we had better not sin anymore, or else. He means he has given us a new way to live and new place of fulfillment. We no longer have to seek our fulfillment, meaning, or validation in the world. We no longer have to seek it in sin. We are fulfilled in Jesus, we have meaning in Jesus, he is the only one who can complete us.
As Christians we are meant to be representatives of Jesus here on this earth. We aren’t supposed to be standing over the broken and the downtrodden with rocks in our hand, ready to condemn. We are supposed to seek the broken, the messy, the hurting and extend the love of Jesus to them. Showing them a new way to live, in Jesus, the only one who can fix our brokenness.
